These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings, hires, and use of equipment provided by Te Pā Tākaro Party Hire ("we", "us", "our"). By placing a booking, paying a deposit, or using our equipment, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

1. General

• Te Pā Tākaro Party Hire provides party hire equipment including (but not limited to) inflatables, soft play equipment, sensory items, and a multi cooker.
• All equipment remains the property of Te Pā Tākaro Party Hire at all times.
• The hirer ("you") is responsible for ensuring these Terms & Conditions are read, understood, and followed by all users, guests, and supervisors.
• We reserve the right to refuse hire or cancel a booking if we believe safety may be compromised.

2. Bookings & Payments

• A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking (unless otherwise stated).
• The remaining balance is due no later than 24 hours before the hire period.
• Failure to pay the balance on time may result in cancellation, with all payments forfeited.
• Prices include standard delivery and set-up within Christchurch unless otherwise agreed. Additional charges may apply for locations over 10km.

3. Bond

• A refundable bond may be required depending on the equipment hired.
• Bonds are refunded after equipment is returned, collected, and inspected, provided there is no damage, excessive cleaning required, or breach of these Terms & Conditions.
• Bond refunds are typically processed within 3–5 working days.

4. Hire Period

• Standard hire period is 4 hours, unless agreed otherwise in writing.
• Set-up and pack-down time are not included in the hire period. Please allow up to 2 hours total for delivery, set-up, and collection.
• Late finishes or delays caused by the hirer may result in additional charges.

5. Cancellations & Refunds

Client Cancellations

• Cancellations made 7 days or more before the hire date may be eligible for a partial refund (deposit excluded).
• Cancellations made within 7 days of the hire date will not receive a refund.
• Deposits are non-refundable for change-of-mind cancellations.

Weather-Related Cancellations

• For outdoor bookings, if hire is cancelled due to unsafe weather conditions (including high winds, heavy rain, or extreme conditions), a full refund will be provided.
• For other weather-related situations, a booking credit may be offered at our discretion. Credits are valid for 6 months from the original hire date.
• Weather-related decisions are made at our discretion, prioritising safety.

Provider Cancellations

• If Te Pā Tākaro Party Hire cancels for any reason, a full refund will be provided.

6. Delivery, Set-Up & Collection

• We deliver, set up, and pack down all inflatables and soft play equipment.
• Equipment must remain in the location it was set up unless approved by us.
• Clear access must be provided for delivery vehicles.
• If access is unsafe or unsuitable, we reserve the right to cancel the hire with no refund.

7. Inflatable Hire Rules

For safety reasons, the following rules must be followed at all times:

• Adult supervision is required at all times.
• Maximum user limits must not be exceeded.
• No shoes, food, drinks, sharp objects, jewellery, or face paint on inflatables.
• No climbing on walls, hanging, wrestling, or flipping.
• No animals on inflatables.
• Inflatables must not be used in winds exceeding safe limits.
• Equipment must not be moved, unplugged, or tampered with.

Failure to follow these rules may result in immediate termination of hire without refund.

8. Soft Play & Sensory Equipment Rules

• Soft play and sensory equipment is suitable for young children only, as advised at booking.
• Equipment must be used indoors or on suitable dry surfaces unless approved.
• Items must be kept clean and free from food, drink, and liquids.
• Adult supervision is required at all times.
• Hirer is responsible for preventing misuse or rough play.

9. Multi Cooker Hire Rules

• The multi cooker is available for standalone hire or as an add-on to party hire equipment.
• The multi cooker is hired for adult use only.
• Hirer must follow all manufacturer instructions provided.
• The multi cooker must be used on a stable, heat-safe surface.
• Children must be kept away from the appliance at all times.
• Hirer is responsible for safe operation, cleaning after use, and returning the item in the same condition.
• A $50 cleaning fee will apply if the multi cooker is returned dirty.
• Damage, misuse, or improper cleaning may result in loss of bond or additional charges.

10. Cleaning & Damage

• Equipment must be returned in a reasonably clean condition.
• Excessive cleaning, stains, spills, or damage will be charged to the hirer.
• The hirer is responsible for all loss or damage during the hire period, including theft or vandalism.

11. Safety & Responsibility

• Use of all equipment is entirely at the hirer’s risk.
• The hirer accepts full responsibility for any injury, loss, or damage arising from use of the equipment.
• Te Pā Tākaro Party Hire accepts no liability for injury, loss, or damage caused by misuse, negligence, or failure to follow instructions.

12. Insurance

• Te Pā Tākaro Party Hire holds Public Liability Insurance.
• This insurance does not cover misuse, negligence, or failure to follow these Terms & Conditions.

13. Indemnity

• The hirer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Te Pā Tākaro Party Hire against any claims, damages, costs, or liabilities arising from the hire or use of equipment.

14. Privacy

• Personal information collected is used solely for booking and communication purposes.
• We do not share your information with third parties except where required by law.

15. Amendments

• Te Pā Tākaro Party Hire reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time.
• The Terms & Conditions in force at the time of booking will apply.

16. Governing Law

• These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
